A daily affirmation – Wheel of Fortune

It’s been a while since I have written for a lot of reasons all of which are valid in some way and in others I really just need to “get back on the stick” for writing every single day.

The Wheel of Fortune from today's reading. Surrounded by Labradorite, Fluorite, Kambaba and Red Jasper Dragon with a Goddess Affirmation Pillar Burning.

The Wheel of Fortune from today’s reading. Surrounded by Labradorite, Fluorite, Kambaba and Red Jasper Dragon with a Goddess Affirmation Pillar Burning.

I’ve a daily practice where I pull a card for affirmation from the Affirmations for the Everyday Goddess deck.  The deck is based on the Major Arcana in Tarot and comes complete with a lovely affirmation for that card.

Today I drew the Wheel of Fortune.  This card is rather interesting to me adn plays on a number of themes.  the wheel itself, to me looks like a many faced mandala with the astrological influences showing along the outside.  In the center is an Eye allowing a glimpse at the nature of the universe if you quiet yourself enough to allow it.

There are many animals around the card symbolizing the many influences of life through them.  Wolf- pack/family Grazing Sheep- Sustenance an Life; Black Cat- Mystery; Peacock- Beauty/vanity; Rave- otherworld; Snake- Knowledge.  The woman in red satin symbolizing our desire to connect with Goddess as she reaches for the wheel and looks towards the curled snake for wisdom and knowledge.  So much imagery in this single card.  The affirmation for this card is “There are an infinite number of possibilities in my life”

Through this affirmation and card you can see that the possibilities in life are indeed infinite and ready for you to reach for the sky to attain your dreams and manifest your life how you wish it to be.

I extend the affirmation today to “Today I see the possibilities in my life unfolding in each action and reaction, may knowledge, intuition and joy guide me.  So Mote It Be.”

Family Visits!

Early morning on a week day we went to the Marin Headlands and stopped at sunrise to overlook the Golden Gate and San Francisco.

This past Monday morning, my in-laws left Vallejo heading north on their trek to Crater Lake and the Lava beds and such as they tour in their RV.  To say that this was a sad day for us is an underestimate.  This was the first time that we had seen them since we relocated to California from Florida.

They stayed in Vallejo during their trip here and we saw them everyday.  It was truly a great joy to be able to spend so  much time with them.  I’ve really been missing some of the connections that were once present in my life.  One of them being the presence of family.

My family has grown since the move as we’ve been “adopted” by my best friend’s family here.  It’s not quite the same but I so appreciate being included in so many family things with them.  Since the move to the west coast things, well are different for us in many ways.  This visit brought to the forefront the desire and need for family in life.  We had such great times.

In  many small ways each day was simply gorgeous.  We visited the dog park, a friend’s birthday party in Napa, went on long touring drives to Mt. Diablo, they walked around San Francisco, we went to the beach, we visited the Marin Headlands, Muir Overlook then drove to Lake Berryessa in a windy way.

Each time we did something, or nothing at all and just hung out in the house it was something that made my heart sing a little song.  Ariyana enjoyed seeing them everyday and even though they left on Monday, she looks out the window watching for them.  Here are a few of the pictures from the trip with them.

All in all it was a very lovely time and these are just a few of the awesome pictures we took

Life, Love, and Spirit

DSCN0714I have a bit of time today to sit down and do a little writing, I started this eons ago and this afternoon I finish it.  Life has been rather interesting as of lately with so much happening, I scarcely know which side is up.  Beltane has passed and we are trudging towards Litha now and I still don’t know which direction to turn my life in.  I thought I had a good direction on where I wanted to be and wouldn’t you know it, as soon as I got that down, well shit happened.  Time to second guess and start making back up plans and back up plans of those.

I’ve put my formation of a local circle on hold pending the outcome of several things happening all at once.  With all this happening I am still trying to remain positive and working towards health for life.  It’s been a real tough balancing act and one that I have fallen down on a few times over now, since I first started this post over a month ago!

We just had a lovely week and a half visit with my in-laws.  It’s been 11 months or so since we’ve seen them (last July was our last visit with them – just before our move out West).  They hopped in the RV and drove out to visit with us.  It was a beautiful week and a half of visits and I really hope they consider moving closer to us.  We’ve really missed them.

I’m going to keep this post short and do a separate post tomorrow on the visit and some pictures.  Through all the trials of life, we make mistakes, we grow and we evolve.  When we learn from each situation we are given an opportunity to really be the change we want to see in the world and in our lives, I am trying to learn from my past and be a better person than I was.  The support of friends and family is what sustains and encourages me to continue down my path and for that support I thank you.
