You Can Dance...If You Want To. #WednesdayWisdom

You can leave your friends behind. ‘Cause your friends don’t dance, and if they don’t dance – Why the hell not?? LOL

OK, it’s been a long work week for me (and yes, I realize it’s only Wednesday), and I just feel like I need some perking up. Perhaps you do as well. So, we’re gonna dance it out today. Sometimes you have to…sometimes it’s the only thing that keeps me from snapping and stabbing myself in the eye with a fork or something (though I doubt I would ever do anything *that* rash…but why risk it?? lol).

Where you dance doesn’t matter. You can dance in your living room, you can chair dance, car dance (yes, I said car dance….in my family it’s a thing!), you can even dance at work. I do it every day at one point or another…I’m sure there have been a few people shopping in whatever store I happen to be working in that have been amused – or perhaps baffled – by me and ¬†my own little groove factory.

It keeps me sane…ish, and helps to keep me in a decent state of mind. If others get a kick out of seeing the crazy Pixie wandering through a store singing and dancing, or sitting in the car doing the same, all the better. Spread the freaking joy. You can’t have too much of it, after all.

I guess you could say I am the real life female version of Turk from Scrubs (Yup, I’m visiting the T.V. Land in my mind again). He danced every time he felt the need, and he owned it. He also quoted the lyrics to Safety Dance…and some beautifully insane genius put together a compilation video of him dancing on the show…to the Safety Dance. It always cheers me up, and brightens my day…and the last few days have been a bit cloudy here, so I’m gonna share it with you.

Of course, you can dance to whatever tune gets you groovin’. Another one that does the trick for me lately is Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. So here’s that one too.

That’s all I’ve got for this week, just remember: When in doubt, dance it out. ūüėČ

Embody All Aspects of The Goddess #WednesdayWisdom

This weeks bit of wisdom is something I have placed in my own Book of Shadows. It spoke to me when I found it, and I do my best to live by these words.

I do not know who originally penned it…I’ve seen it in SO many places around the internet,¬†each time without it being attributed to anyone.

While this tells us to embrace and emulate all aspects of the Goddess in our daily lives, it is not just speaking to the ladies among us… It means you too, gents! So, let’s break it down and see what it’s telling us.

Dance Like The Maiden: Channel your Inner Child and remember to PLAY. Sing, Dance, and skip about every now and then (Y’know…like no one is watching…even if they are).

Laugh Like The Mother: Don’t take yourself, or any given situation too seriously. Life is too short to spend it miserable, so keep your sense of humor intact¬†and make the best out of every situation.

Think Like The Crone: Use your head, and try not to act rashly. Also remember that you are a Child of The Goddess and are therefore worthy of the same level of respect as any other person (or creature). While you are entitled to respect, including self-respect, you should also remember to conduct yourself with dignity and grace.

Yes, you¬†CAN be dignified¬†while dancing about and laughing…it’s all about balance people!
