Your #ForesightFriday Forecast for 8/1/15 - 8/7/15This week, I was nudged to pull from my Goddess Guidance Oracle deck…so I did (ignoring nudges generally ends up with a cosmic frying pan to the head, and I try to avoid that, ’cause: OW! ūüėČ ).

The Card Drawn: Ostara

Ostara: Fertility (Goddess Guidance Oracle) #ForesightFriday

Key Word: Fertility

Basic Message: “It is the perfect time for you to start new projects, access new ideas, and give birth to new conditions.”

My take on this card: To me this is the perfect follow-up to all that magnificent grounding we did this past week. We are feeling calm, steady, nurtured, and renewed. It is now time to make use of the amazing groundwork (pun sort of intended, lol) we did, and create something from our patch of now fertile soil.

It’s time to ditch the dark doldrums and LET THERE BE LIGHT! Be a little goofy, release your inner Pixie, and relish in the joy of all the possibilities of life.

Clean up your mundane and spiritual habitat, and surround yourself with beauty. This act of purging that which is cluttering up your vibe will put a bit of a spring in your step, as well as make room for something new and wonderful. Oh yeah, that “new and wonderful” bit? That means it’s time to START something new and wonderful. So jump on all the fab vibes from tonight’s Blue Moon, as well as the energy Lughnasadh/Lammas brings us on Saturday, and work to create something awesome.

Catch Y’all on the flip side. Have a great week!

Sometimes You Gotta Say "What the F*ck" #WednesdayWisdom #ThePixilatedPathSo many of us go through our lives and are hesitant to truly live them. Have you ever regretted: NOT kissing the boy that was standing in your doorway, NOT asking for someone’s phone number (or giving them yours), Not applying for that dream job, or any other number of things? I’m pretty sure you have…and you know what? That’s OK, but I’m gonna tell you this: KNOCK IT OFF, ALREADY!

I spent many years of my life afraid to do the things that I wanted to. Yes, I’ve always had a spontaneous streak, but when it came down to doing something that was important to me, I’d generally chicken out and regret it later – often for years (Yeahhhh, that boy standing in my doorway…I didn’t seize the moment and kiss him. Even though every fiber of my being was screaming at me to do so, I chickened out and kicked myself for it for ages. Y’know what? Turns out he was WAITING for me to do it. *sigh*).

I very rarely ignore what my heart wants these days, and I am much happier for it. If nobody is getting hurt, why not chase that rainbow? You might end up having a life changing experience. I mean, much like Miles says to Joel in Risky Business (Yes, another pop culture reference. Get used to it, they are my life, lol) “Sometimes you gotta say “What the Fuck”, make your move. Joel, every now and then, saying “What the Fuck”, brings freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future.”

These words always stuck with me and, eventually I learned to live by them most days. Saying this cherished little phrase in my head lead to my relationship with my husband, the purchase of our house, the opening of my now defunct business (hey, I gave it a shot), life-long friendships with people I met online and decided to meet in person, even my decision to join the Coven of Sangha-Sho (albeit a “WTF” guided by the Divine, lol).

If you’d like a more eloquently stated version to print out and post at work, or on the fridge or something, try this quote by Goethe.

Plunge boldly into the thick of life, and seize it where you will, it is always interesting. - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

However you want to phrase it is up to you, but I advise you to start saying yes to the things that tug at your heart strings. Life is one hell of a ride when you start purchasing those “WTF” tickets! Sometimes things don’t work out as you’d hoped, but at least you know you tried. If you never try, how will you know how splendid your world can be??

The #ForesightFriday 411 for 7/26/15 - 8/1/15This week I’m pulling a card from my “Secret Language of Animals” Oracle card deck…because that’s what nudged me the most this week.

And our card is *drumroll, please*: White Rhinoceros

The White Rhinoceros

Key words for this card are: Stability, Confidence, Steadiness, & Abundance

What this LMOUS (Land Mammal of Unusual Size ūüėČ ) is telling us: This coming week is a time to breathe deep and reconnect with the earth. Stand outside with your feet firmly planted upon Mother Earth while feeling the warmth of Father Sun upon your face. Take the time to feel their power…their constant, powerful presence…and how you are not only connected to them; but how you are connected to all things THROUGH them.

Take time for inner reflection, and realize your innate awesomeness. Replenish your spirit with the abundant energies of the Earth, while nurturing it with the simple – yet powerful – energies of the Earth Sun and Water. Stand proud, in quiet confidence, and know you have within you all the tools you require to get through this week, and all the weeks that follow.

Be sure to communicate with those you trust regarding your needs…but don’t be surprised if a seemingly unusual partnership pops up. They may not do things the way you do, but their gifts shall compliment yours, and anything resulting from you knocking your noggins together shall be Epic!

Have an awesome week, guys! ūüėÄ

Bob Kelso & Teddy Roosevelt Have a Message for You #WednesdayWisdom #ThePixilatedPathYou’re probably wondering what the HELL these two men (one of whom is a fictional character) could possibly have to tell you, jointly, that is somehow relevant to anything, let alone your life. ¬†Well, I’m gonna tell you!

First, let’s replay a little scene from the NBC sitcom Scrubs and see what Bob Kelso – Chief of Medicine has to share:

Dr. Kelso: You are going to shut your damn yapper and listen for a change, because I got you pegged, sweetheart. You want to take the easy way out with the surgery because you’re scared. You’re scared because if you try and fail, there’s only you to blame. Well, Missy, let me break this down for you, Bobbo-style. Life is scary. Get used to it.
J.D.: [Narration] And then it seemed like Dr. Kelso wasn’t only talking to her.
Dr. Kelso: There are no magical fixes. It’s all up to you. So get up off your keister, get out of here, and go start doin’ the work.
Nell Goldman: What if it’s too hard?
Dr. Christopher Turk: Yeah, what if it’s too hard?
Dr. Kelso: Turkleton, I have no idea why you’re chiming in, but I’ll say this to both of you. Nothing in this world that’s worth having comes easy.

Now let’s take a look at something our 26th President had to say that relates to this:

‚ÄúNothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty‚Ķ I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.‚ÄĚ – Theodore Roosevelt

They both boil down to something that popped out of my mouth in the car this evening when talking to a friend of mine who had a bit of a rough day “Nothing worth having is ever easy”.

It’s true. Relationships are difficult. Giving birth to your children is difficult. Work is difficult¬†(that’s why it’s work, lol). Spiritual growth and development is WICKED DIFFICULT. All of these things are encapsulated in this little thing we call: LIFE…and we all know that life is downright f*ing difficult.

The point that I, the fictitious Chief of Medicine at good the ol’ North Hollywood Medical Center, and a former Commander in Chief are trying to make is this:

If you’re skating through your spiritual practice or any other aspect of your life with great ease, then chances are pretty damn good that you are not creating a very fulfilling life for yourself. You need to put in the work, learn the hard lessons, feel ALL THE FEELINGS, suffer losses, and face unpleasant truths about yourself and others. Only by experiencing the hard times can we experience the good with gratitude. Only by accepting, learning from, and learning to deal with – or even love – those aspects of ourselves that we once found frightening, freakish, controversial, etc. can we become more at peace and loving with ourselves, and are then able to place our True Selves in service of the Divine – resulting in a much more intimate and fulfilling spiritual relationship.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get to work. ūüėČ

An "Accidental" Talent #ForesightFridaySeveral months ago I was at a friend’s place and she was showing me her Tarot decks. We went through the deck and she was pointing out what she loved about them, and I was commenting on the imagery of various cards. It wasn’t any sort of life-altering conversation, just two witchy women hanging out and relaxing.

Then, something happened. She was looking at a particular card and was telling me how she thought it was a good representation of me, which I found interesting…and really rather accurate. Then she started to pick up the cards. As she¬†gathered¬†the deck¬†from its scattered state and returned to an orderly stack, I got one of those little “nudges” to the center of my brain.

I apparently had one of those looks that meant I was up to something, when my friend says – in a somewhat accusatory tone – “What?”

I felt a smirk cross my face just as a twinkle entered my eye…I reached for the deck…closed my eyes…focused, and cut the deck with a “Boom!”. “What’s that?” she queried. “THAT”, I replied, “is your card. The card that is you, right now.”

The crazy thing is….it was dead freaking ON! We were filled with that joy and disbelief that often accompanies those moments when your beliefs are reinforced.

I figured this was an isolated incident, but I have since been able to do this accurately on many occasions since. I think it’s pretty awesome. I have never been one to do traditional spreads, I pull a card or cards whenever I feel compelled to do so. This is similar to that, as I do it for someone when I am compelled to do so. It seems to give people the right amount of insight, as well as a reminder about certain aspects of themselves they may be forgetting at that moment. So far, they’ve all been very positive…but I’m sure it will someday give somebody a well needed “ego check”, hehehe.

So there it is, my little “accidental” talent. Nothing Earth shattering, but I felt the need to share it for this first ever Foresight Friday. Is there anything “unusual” that you do in the realm of Divination? Anything talents you may have stumbled upon purely by accident? I’d love to hear about them if you care to share. ūüôā

Going forward, I will use this time to pull a card – or cards – to represent the week that is to come. I won’t always be using my Tarot decks, as I also use Goddess Guidance cards, Karma cards, Animal Wisdom cards…and sometimes, my Witches Runes (or whatever other method¬†I decide to try).

See you next time, folks!

Hello all you faithful readers! As an attempt to actually be¬†CONSISTENT¬†with this little¬†thought depository O’Mine; I am introducing a weekly feature I’m calling Wisdom Wednesday. These posts may be short, they may be long. Either way, I will do my utmost to post some little nugget of Wisdom every week. So, let’s get this show on the road, shall we?

Moms are Wise #WednesdayWisdom

This Inaugural Nugget comes from my Mom. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if a few of Mom’s favorite¬†sayings¬†work their way into this feature.

Never stop learning. Never stop being open to everything the Universe has to offer. Never say never.”

Chris Miller (aka: The Pixie’s Mom)

This was something she said often. Sometimes in its entirety, sometimes just a selected piece. She believed in this sentiment so much that she used it as one of the tag lines for her business, even going so far as to print it up onto bookmarks that she made and gave away with every book purchase.

I am pretty sure this is written into my soul with indelible ink. It is wonderful advice all the way around, as well as a little bit cheeky if used whole…which is pretty much how she meant it to be. “Never say never” was always said with a bit of a smirk and a twinkle in her eye. A tradition I like to carry on. ūüėȬ†I like to think of it as the exception that proves the rule.

Now it’s your turn! Do you have a tried and true piece of homespun wisdom from your Mom? Let me here ’em! Comment away!

Hello all you gorgeous and generous folks that follow this less than consistent blogger!!

Today I am posting something a little different, it’s a post about a fundraiser I’m participating in, and I would love if you could help me out.

I will be participating in the National Parkinson Foundation’s Moving Day event in Rochester, NY on October 4, 2015.

Did you know that 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson Disease (or “PD”) are diagnosed in the U.S. each year??¬†That’s crazy right? Especially when you take into account the 1,000,000 or so folks that have already been diagnosed.¬†

This is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart, because in December of 2014 a dear friend and coven-mate of mine was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson Disease…he’s only 35. We have created a team page for our Coven and we’re hoping to raise all sorts of funds…it sure would make Adam a happy camper!

If you are unable to donate at this time, that’s ok (keep us in mind though we’ve got until October) but ¬†please consider sharing this post¬†so we can get the word out.¬†

My Personal Fundraising Page is here: Shawna’s Moving Day Rochester Page

Any and all funds donated via my page will be added to Team Sangha-Sho’s overall goal.

Thank you all so much for reading.

May the Goddess Bless You All
